A compliance analyst monitors business activity against laws, regulations and company policy, and documents what the review finds. The role provides the evidence and early warnings that let compliance leaders correct problems before they become violations. Typical responsibilities include: test business processes and transactions against compliance requirements; document findings and track remediation to completion; prepare regulatory reports and submissions on schedule.
Look for regulatory research, control testing, risk assessment, report writing, attention to detail and data analysis. Experience with Excel, Archer, NAVEX, ServiceNow GRC and Tableau is common in this role.

Often yes. Banking, healthcare, insurance and securities each have separate rules, and an analyst who already knows the regulations ramps up much faster. If you hire from a different industry, expect a longer learning period and plan for targeted training.
